CALL FOR ABSTRACT

29th ATRS World Conference - Main Conference

Professor Anming Zhang, President of the Air Transport Research Society, and Prof. Jun Zhang, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee from seven distinguished universities in Beijing, invite you to submit an abstract for a paper to be presented at the 29th ATRS World Conference. The conference will be held in Hong Kong, China, July 1-4 (Wednesday – Saturday), 2026. All conference sessions will be in person, only.

Online Pre-Conference

An online pre-conference will be arranged on June 30 to accommodate participants who are not able to attend the in-person main conference. Those who plan to present at the pre-conference should follow the same abstract submission procedure and adhere to the deadlines indicated in this Call for Abstracts. Registration for the pre-conference will be at a reduced rate and will include the following:

  • Online pre-conference paper sessions and pre-conference keynote speech

  • Live broadcast of the Ph.D. Student and Junior Faculty Workshop (July 1)

  • Eligibility for ATRS Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards

  • Eligibility to submit paper presented at the pre-conference to ATRS special issue journals

Submissions and notifications

  • Abstract submission deadline: February 15, 2026

  • Acceptance notification: March 15-16, 2026

  • Full paper submission deadline (for paper awards): May 1, 2026

    • Full paper submission is not required to present accepted papers at the conference.

    • Full paper submission is required for the consideration of the best paper and best student paper awards. The conference papers submitted will be shared with the 29th ATRS World Conference Delegates.

  • Early registration rates deadline: May 1, 2026

  • Final registration deadlines:

    • Presenters: May 1, 2026*

    • Non-presenters (Pre-Conference): June 20, 2026

    • Non-presenters / Companions (Main conference): May 31, 2026

  • *To include presentations in the conference, presenters must pay the registration fees by May 1.

  • We regret that we are unable to refund your registration payment after May 31, 2026. Banking and transactions fees will be deducted from the registration payment for refund.

A 1-year ATRS membership is included with the registration for the main conference or pre-conference. Registrants may also attend the Ph.D. Student and Junior Faculty Workshop. Registration Information

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Abstract format

The format requires a structured abstract, which includes:

1. A concise description of the purpose of the research (20~40 words),

2. A brief introduction of your research design, methodology or approach (35~70 words),

3. A description of your (expected) research findings (35~70 words),

4. A short summary of the originality/contribution of your research paper (35~70 words), and

5. A list of literature references that are most pertinent to your research (2~5 references).


Full Paper Submissions

Full paper submission deadline: May 1, 2026

Full paper submission is mandatory for the consideration of paper awards, but optional for those who do not want to compete for the awards. ATRS does not produce conference proceedings, but we will share conference papers with ATRS members.

ATRS does not set any specific format for conference papers. However, after the conference, if authors plan to publish their presented papers in a special issue journal, please follow that journal’s requirements.


PAPER AWARDS

ATRS Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards

Two best paper awards will be granted, one for the outstanding paper and a second for the outstanding paper for which a student is the first author and presenter at the conference. For the student award, the lead author must be a registered student in an educational institution at the time of submission. To apply for the student award, please indicate on the FIRST LINE of your submitted paper that you wish the paper to be considered for this award. The first author/presenter of each of the winning papers will receive an award certificate and a cash prize of US $1,000.

More paper awards are currently under discussion and will be announced soon.

To be eligible for these awards, a complete paper must be submitted by May 1, 2026. The Paper Awards Committee is responsible for the winner selections for all the three awards.
